The onlookers stood watching, mouths agape.
Mike, who had just finished performing CPR, was as wide-eyed as the rest.
The guy who had just received CPR, however, was totally cool. Mr. Cool, in fact.
“You know, in some cultures,” said Mr. Cool, “when you save someone’s life, you become responsible for them.”
Mike shook himself out of the confusion, shrugged, and said, “If you say so.” Then he picked up the armless, legless Mr. Cool and began to walk out.
The two left through the double doors of the training room, one cradled in the other’s arms.
Mr. Cool looked up at Mike and said, “If you think this is weird, just wait. I have a lot to teach you, my friend.”
